An
anecdocte about this ticket: As you see it is a return ticket, "Berg (up) und Talfahrt (down)", and only the way down was used (the letter T is punched). In 1998 my plan was to take the funicular to see the glacier and then walk along the glacier down the valley to reach Heligenblut. I asked to have a single ticket (just the way down), the employee refused to sell me such a ticket! He said that I must buy a return ticket! I explained my plan to the employee (difficult because my german is not great!) but he said that my plan is impossible, there is no such way to reach Heiligenblut. I had to show him the footpath on the map and had an argument with the employee... no more success! Finally, I bought the return ticket, I used the funicular to go down to the glacier and then... I found the footpath and reached Heiligenblut without any problem after a really wonderful four hours walk! |
